Rain in the Ocean

Recently, I found a snap of rain as seen from an aircraft in the web. 

I remembered that quite some time back, I had taken few snaps of rain as seen in the ocean. 

These snaps were taken on a boat-ride from Port Blair to Havelock Island. The best part was one could easily make out the area where the rain is falling from the area where it is not. 

And below are couple of more snaps from the Andamans which I thought was very beautiful.

This is a video of a Nicobarese gospel song sung by students in a camp set up after the tsunami in Dec 2004 which affected the Nicobar Islands quite badly.

White Surf . . . A Waterfall forgotten

During our initial days of exploring of the Andaman Islands after the tsunami, we had come across the White Surf Waterfall in Hutbay Island. I wonder how it looks now. But, during the heydays of tourism, it was a major attraction of Hutbay Island. 

These snaps were taken sometime in January 2005, within a month of the 2004 Tsunami.

I'm not sure on whether the waterfall re-established during the next rains. Would appreciate if anyone could update.

Remembering Andamans . . .

There was something unfortunate in our vernacular daily today. Later, I found out that it was all over in the international press. 

A significant shift in a stand leaning more towards primary healthcare and public health happened in me during a 6 month posting in Andaman soon after the Tsunami in December 2004. I was part of the initial disaster response team sent from EHA. 

Well, the first reaction you have of that place is the amazing beauty of the islands. I hope to share few of the snaps I took during the 6 months. I know that the snaps are too assorted. Unfortunately, I'm sure that I'll take quite a lot of time to sort them out . . .  So, kindly excuse . . .
