And we think we know everything . . .

It seems that scientists led by an Indian Ophthalmologist, Dr. Harminder Dua has discovered an additional layer in the cornea than the ones we knew.

Before May 2013 - the layers of the cornea used to be -

CORNEAL EPITHELIUM - BOWMAN'S MEMBRANE - STROMA OF THE CORNEA - DESCEMET'S MEMBRANCE - CORNEAL ENDOTHELIUM

Now, we know the layers of the cornea as -

CORNEAL EPITHELIUM - BOWMAN'S MEMBRANE - STROMA OF THE CORNEA - DUA'S LAYER - DESCEMET'S MEMBRANCE - CORNEAL ENDOTHELIUM

Amazing . . .

Another moment when I'm amazed how true it is when the Psalmist says in Psalm 139:14 -

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
